This commissioned piece was created as a birthday gift for a friend's husband. They collect wines and especially love Italian Chianti. On a recent trip to Italy, they saved some labels from their favorite wines. In this piece, I incorporated these labels and the color palette of their beach house aptly named, "The Roost". The rooster is the symbol of the Chianti region in Italy. Now, even at the Oregon Coast, they can remember their trip and some of the fabulous wines of the area.
